For the past 6 days, she has had a fever all over her body, dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue in her limbs, abdominal distension, nausea, reduced appetite, yellowing of the eyes and skin, slight thirst, grayish stool, dark yellow and scanty urine, thin yellow tongue coating, and a soft, rapid pulse. The syndrome is identified as jaundice (yang jaundice), and the treatment is to clear heat and drain dampness. The prescription used is Virgate Wormwood Decoction:
Virgate Wormwood 15g, Gardenia 7.5g, Rhubarb Rhizoma 3.5g
decocted with water, taken twice a day.
