bubble_chart Formula Principles
The difficulty in urination treated by this formula is due to the deficiency of kidney yang. In the formula, Aconite Lateral Root warms and tonifies kidney yang to assist the qi transformation of the bladder. When kidney yang is sufficient, the bladder's qi transformation is empowered, and urination naturally becomes smooth. The combination of medicinals Poria gently promotes diuresis, and Chinese Yam moistens dryness to quench thirst, allowing dampness to descend and body fluids to ascend, thus promoting urination and stopping thirst. Additionally, Trichosanthes Root produces fluids to moisten dryness, and Lilac Pink Herb enhances the function of promoting water passage. These two herbs, being cold in nature, also counteract the dryness-heat of Aconite Lateral Root, aiming to support yang without damaging yin. The combination of these five herbs has the effect of tonifying kidney yang, promoting urination, generating body fluids, and stopping thirst.
