The syndrome of infantile convulsions with uplifted eyes is characterized by excessive phlegm-heat, palpitations due to fright, high fever, upward rolling of the eyes, twitching of the hands and feet, and bluish fingernails. It resembles infantile convulsions, but with a greater tendency for the eyes to look upward.
