  1. The collective term for the three yin meridians: taiyin, shaoyin, and jueyin. This includes the three yin meridians of the hand and the three yin meridians of the foot, making a total of six meridians. In six-meridian pattern identification, the three yin diseases refer to pathogenic factors located deep within the body or diseases of the five zang-organs.
  2. An alternative name for the taiyin meridian (Suwen-Yinyang Bie Lun Wang Bing's annotation). According to the progression of cold-damage disease from the exterior to the interior, the taiyin meridian is the first to be affected among the three yin meridians, hence it is called "three yin"; next is the shaoyin meridian, referred to as "two yin"; and lastly, the jueyin meridian, called "one yin".
  3. An alternative name for foot-taiyin spleen meridian (Suwen-Yinyang Bie Lun Ma Shi's annotation).
