  1. Disease name or symptom name. In a broad sense, cold-damage disease is a general term for external-contraction fever diseases; in a narrow sense, cold-damage disease is a pattern type belonging to the taiyang exterior pattern, with main symptoms including fever, aversion to cold, absence of sweating, stiffness and pain in the head and neck, and a floating and tight pulse. It differs from the "cold-damage disease" referred to in modern medicine.
  2. Cause of disease. Refers to damage caused by cold pathogens.
