bubble_chart Content Fever comes like the tide at a fixed time, with body temperature rising at a certain time each day (usually in the afternoon). There are roughly three causes of tidal fever:
- due to insufficient yin fluid in the body, fever and night sweating often occur after nightfall, called "yin deficiency tidal fever";
- due to yang qi being suppressed by dampness, afternoon fever may occur, called "dampness warm disease tidal fever";
- due to pathogenic heat accumulating in the intestines, fever may also occur every afternoon, known as Yangming "late afternoon tidal fever".
Additionally, when warm disease progresses to the nutrient aspect or blood aspect stage, body heat often gradually rises in the afternoon. This type of fever is not called tidal fever, but rather heat entering the nutrient aspect or heat invading the blood aspect.
