During the process of a sexually transmitted disease, symptoms such as back stiffness and arching, lockjaw, and inability to open the mouth may occur. Main manifestations include: body heat with cold feet (feeling head heat, red face, and red eyes when experiencing chills), stiff neck, arched back, sudden lockjaw, shaking of the head alone, and a deep, thin or tense pulse. This disease is caused by the invasion of the six excesses, leading to dryness and wind transformation. For example, excessive heat in the Yangming meridian can trigger liver wind; or excessive heat in the heart can also trigger liver wind. Severe conditions such as excessive heat damaging yin, mistaken vomiting, or mistaken purging can also lead to convulsions. Jingui Yaolue describes fever without sweating and aversion to cold as "exogenous convulsive disease"; fever with sweating and no aversion to cold is also considered "exogenous convulsive disease". Additionally, conditions such as "neonatal tetanus", "postpartum convulsion", "tetanus", and "summerheat convulsion" in children all fall within the scope of convulsive diseases.
