Also known as "spermatorrhea" or "seminal emission." Seminal emission that occurs with dreams is called "nocturnal emission"; spontaneous emission during the day is called "spermatorrhea." It is mainly caused by "non-interaction between the heart and kidney," "excessive ministerial fire," "insecurity of kidney qi," and in some cases, "dampness-heat pouring down." For those with non-interaction between the heart and kidney, symptoms include nocturnal emission, dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, and yellow, short, and hot urine. For those with excessive ministerial fire, symptoms include easy erection of the penis, dry mouth, red tongue, dizziness, tinnitus, and soreness in the waist. For those with insecurity of kidney qi, symptoms include easy seminal emission, pale complexion, listlessness, dizziness, soreness in the waist, and a deep, weak pulse. If caused by dampness-heat, additional symptoms may include bitter taste in the mouth, red urine, and a yellow, greasy tongue coating.
