This disease is often caused by pre-existing dampness-heat in the stomach meridian and external contraction of wind pathogens, leading to the interaction of wind and heat, commonly known as "exfoliative cheilitis." It mostly occurs on the lower lip, with main symptoms including redness, swelling, pain, and over time, cracking and oozing of fluid.
