The earliest mention is found in Shiji‧Bian Que Biography. Leukorrhea refers to the area below the waist or below the belt. Women often suffer from "leukorrhea" diseases, so in ancient times, doctors specializing in treating gynecological and obstetric diseases were called leukorrhea doctors.
