Madam is endowed with the five constants, and grows due to the wind qi. Although wind qi can give birth to all things, it can also harm all things, just as water can float a boat and also capsize it. If the five zang-organs are unobstructed and the primordial truth is smooth, a person will be at peace and harmony; if abnormal climatic factors are present, many people will die. The myriad diseases do not exceed three categories:

• Firstly, the meridians are invaded by evil, entering the zang-fu organs, which is the internal cause;
• Secondly, the limbs and nine orifices, with the blood vessels transmitting, become blocked and impassable, which is the external skin being affected;
• Thirdly, injuries caused by sexual activities, metal blades, and insect or animal bites.

By detailing these, all causes of disease are covered. If a person can cultivate caution, not allowing evil winds to invade the meridians; if apoplexy involving meridians has not yet spread to the zang-fu organs, it should be treated immediately; if the limbs feel heavy and sluggish, conduct exercises, exhalation and inhalation, acupuncture, and ointment rubbing should be applied immediately, not allowing the nine orifices to become blocked; moreover, one should avoid violating the laws of the land and injuries from birds and beasts; sexual activities should not be exhausted, and when taking medicine, regulate the cold, heat, bitterness, sourness, pungency, and sweetness, not allowing the body to decline, then diseases will have no way to enter the striae and interstice. The striae are the places where the triple energizer communicates with the primordial truth, and where the blood and qi are infused; the texture is the pattern of the skin and the zang-fu organs.
