﹝Explanation of Name﹞

The point can treat conditions like hernia and make them recover, hence the name.

﹝Source﹞

Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing.

﹝Location﹞

• Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "2 cun below Shuidao (ST28)" ；
• Xunjing Kaoxue Bian: "Level with Qugu (CV2)" ；i.e., 5 cun below the center of the umbilicus (Qugu (CV2)) and 2 cun lateral.
• Zhenjiu Fengyuan: "1 cun above Qichong (ST30), 4 cun lateral below the umbilicus, with 1 cun above and below."
• Donggong Anmo Mijue: "4 cun below the center of the umbilicus, 2 cun lateral on both sides; when lying down and lifting the head, there is a mouse-shaped flesh above." Now followsZhenjiu Fengyuan.

﹝Regional Anatomy﹞

• Muscles: lateral border of the rectus abdominis, internal oblique muscle, transverse abdominal muscle tendon membrane.
• Nerves: iliohypogastric nerve.
• Blood vessels: inferior epigastric artery and vein laterally.

﹝Acupuncture and Moxibustion﹞

Perpendicular insertion or oblique insertion 1～1.5 cun. Moxa cone moxibustion 5～7 cones, moxibustion with moxa stick 10～20 minutes.

﹝Effects﹞

Regulates qi, lifts the uterus, treats hernia.

﹝Indications﹞

• Classical: lower abdominal pain, running-piglet syndrome, hernia, retracted testicles, menstrual irregularities, amenorrhea, pudendal coldness with swelling and pain, leukorrhea, cold accumulation in the female blood chamber, male impotence.
• Modern: orchitis, Zigong (EX-CA1) internal membrane inflammation, oophoritis, infertility, postpartum lochiorrhea.

﹝Prescription Examples﹞

• Hernia with 95% bias: Guilai (ST29), Taichong (LR3).
• Male and female genital disorders, amenorrhea, excessive leucorrhea: Guilai (ST29), Guanyuan (CV4), Zhongji (CV3), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Shenshu (BL23).
