﹝Name Explanation﹞
Si, meaning open in all directions; Bai, clear as in Guangming (GB37). It is mainly used to treat eye diseases, and acupuncture can enhance vision, hence the name.
﹝Source﹞
Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing.
﹝Location﹞
On the face, directly below the pupil, in the depression of the infraorbital foramen. On the midline of the eye, one cun below the lower eyelid margin, at the midpoint between the nose tip and the outer canthus.
﹝Regional Anatomy﹞
- Muscles: Between the orbicularis oculi muscle and the levator labii superioris muscle.
- Nerves: Infraorbital nerve, zygomatic branch of the facial nerve.
- Vessels: Branches of the facial artery and vein, infraorbital artery and vein.
﹝Acupuncture and Moxibustion﹞
Perpendicular insertion 0.3～0.5 cun. No moxibustion.
﹝Functions﹞
Dispels wind, improves vision.
﹝Indications﹞
- Classical: Redness and pain of the eyes, eye nebula, twitching eyelid (blepharospasm), tearing, blurred vision, itching of the palpebral margin, deviation of the mouth and eye, headache, vertigo.
- Modern: Facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, keratitis, rhinitis, biliary ascariasis.

- Trigeminal neuralgia: Fengchi (GB20), Xiaguan (ST7), Sibai (ST2), Jiachengjiang, Hegu (LI4).
