Liang, beam; men, entrance and exit. The point is located at the stomach region, hence the name.
﹝Source﹞
Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing.
﹝Location﹞
Upper abdomen, 4 cun above the umbilicus (Zhongwan (CV12)) and 2 cun lateral, 1 cun below Chengman (ST20), at the upper 1/3 point of the line connecting Burong (ST19) and Tianshu (ST25).
- Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "1 cun below Chengman (ST20)";
- Leijing Tuyi: "Opposite Zhongwan (CV12)".
﹝Local Anatomy﹞
- Muscles: Rectus abdominis, deep layer is transversus abdominis.
- Nerves: Branches of the 8th intercostal nerve.
- Blood vessels: Branches of the 7th intercostal artery and vein, and superior epigastric artery and vein.
﹝Acupuncture and Moxibustion﹞
Perpendicular insertion or oblique insertion 0.5~1.5 cun. Moxa cone moxibustion 3~5 cones, moxibustion with moxa stick 10~15 minutes.
﹝Functions﹞
Regulates middle qi, harmonizes the stomach and intestines, resolves stagnation.
﹝Indications﹞
- Classical: Accumulated qi and pain in the abdomen, poor appetite, epigastralgia, diarrhea with undigested food, hernia pain, prolapse of rectum, blood clots and coagulation in women.
- Modern: Acute and chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, indigestion.

- Ulcer disease: Liangmen (ST21), Zhongwan (CV12), Zusanli (ST36).
- Epigastralgia, indigestion, poor appetite, sloppy diarrhea: Liangmen (ST21), Zhongwan (CV12), Zusanli (ST36), Gongsun (SP4), Neiguan (PC6).
