bubble_chart Content 1. Needles: Ear points are generally treated with small three-edged needles.
2. Procedure: Ear point therapy commonly uses the three-edged needle for bloodletting or slight pricking. The method is as follows: The left hand's thumb, index, and middle fingers hold or pinch the ear point to be needled. The right hand's thumb and index finger hold the needle handle, with the middle finger's tip close to the lower end of the needle body. Aim at the sterilized ear point, quickly prick 2-4 mm deep, immediately withdraw the needle, gently squeeze the skin around the needle hole, and let 2-3 drops of blood out, then press the needle hole with a sterilized cotton ball. Alternatively, a slight prick about 1-2 mm deep without bleeding can be performed. This is done every other day, with 5 sessions constituting a course of treatment.
3. Precautions:
(1) Those with blood diseases, or with infections or ulcers on the auricle, should not use the bloodletting method.
(2) The needles and acupoint areas must be strictly sterilized to prevent infection.
(3) The bloodletting prick should be accurate, quick, gentle, and shallow, with not too much bleeding. Care must be taken not to injure deep large blood vessels.
