Let's take physics as an example to facilitate explanation.

What is classical physics? The research tools used by physicists hundreds of years ago were still very rudimentary, mostly relying on the use of hands and brains, paper and pen calculations, without computers or the internet, and without knowing that matter is composed of atoms and molecules. Even so, they were able to calculate earth-shattering conclusions, driving the Industrial Revolution. Newtonian mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics are all glorious products of classical physics.

What is modern physics? Starting from the 20th century, with the advancement of human technology, physicists have had more precise instruments for research and calculation, able to see further, observe more finely, faster, and more efficiently. Thus, new physics was born, with quantum mechanics and relativity being important paradigms of modern physics.

Modern physics is often a further extension of classical physics, and the two do not contradict each other. They complement each other, each with its applicable scope. Classical physics can already meet the needs of daily life, such as architecture, machinery, electricity, radio, etc.; but on the extremely large cosmic scale or the extremely small atomic scale, classical physics is no longer useful, and modern physics must be adopted.

Chinese medicine is like classical physics, its development is rudimentary, without the support of technology, its conclusions apply to the macroscopic human body visible to the naked eye. Through various macroscopic signs visible to the naked eye, it infers the rise and fall of the functions of the five zang and six fu-organs, deduces the mechanism of diseases, and provides appropriate macroscopic treatment. This can already cope with most daily diseases, just like classical physics, without needing to understand the molecular and atomic levels, it can still be of great use.

As for the status of modern medicine, it is like modern physics. Modern medicine has plunged into the world of molecular biology, studying extremely fine physiological and pathological phenomena, and the conclusions obtained are mainly applicable at the microscopic molecular biology level, unable to solve diseases at the macroscopic scale, just as quantum mechanics and relativity cannot be used to build bridges or houses, but classical physics can.

Just as modern physics is built on classical physics, modern medicine must have a solid foundation in classical medicine, otherwise it is like a rootless Spirodela, flashy but not substantial, and Chinese medicine is precisely the classical medicine of modern medicine. Just as classical physics is still widely applied in various engineering and technologies in contemporary life, Chinese medicine should also be recognized as classical medicine, continuing to be promoted and developed, defending the health of all humanity.
