bubble_chart Content In summary, the liver, liver qi, and liver wind in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) actually encompass the liver itself and the entire scope of the nervous system, particularly the regulatory functions of the autonomic nervous system. The nervous system plays a crucial role in the human body. Although the concept of the nervous system did not exist in ancient times, the phenomena caused by the nervous system were observed. These transmission and regulation phenomena resemble trees swaying in the wind, roots holding the soil, and leaves regulating air and moisture. Consequently, these phenomena were attributed to the Wood phase of the Five Phases and the liver within the body.
Just as the endocrine system is classified under the kidney system in TCM, the nervous system is also categorized under the liver system in TCM. This is substantively reflected in the functions and manifestations of "liver qi" and "liver wind."
