  1. Refers to the aspect of yang within yin in things that are classified as yin. For example, the back is yang, and the front is yin; within the front, the chest is yang as it is located above, while the abdomen is yin as it is located below, hence the chest is considered yang within yin.
  2. Refers to the two natures of a certain thing, where the former is yin and the latter is yang. For example, the liver is located inside the abdomen and is classified as yin; however, liver qi governs the qi dynamic, has a dispersing nature, which is classified as yang. Hence, it is referred to as yang within yin.
