"Zhe" (輒), the side panels of a carriage, symbolizing "both sides". "jin" (筋), sinew. The acupoint is located between bones and muscles on both sides of ribcage, hence the name.

On the lateral side of the chest, 1 cun anterior to Yuanye (GB22), approximately level with the nipple, at the midpoint of the line connecting Yuanye (GB22) and Tianxi (SP18).

• Zhenjiu Jiayi Jing: "3 cun below armpit, then 1 cun forward, adjacent to ribs".
• Zhenjiu Dacheng adds: "At the end of third rib, 7.5 cun lateral to sternum, level with nipples. Locate by lying on the side with upper leg bent".
